The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett
Well, I've been convalescing over the past couple of weeks and had a lot of time last week to catch up on some binge-watching.

I watched The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

I didn't watch The Mandalorian when it was first broadcast because I didn't want to subscribe to Disney+. Still don't want to, but we took the plunge so I'm trying to watch as many things as I can before we inevitably cut that service from our budget.

I'm glad I waited so long because I got to see the entire story over a few days, and it even tied in nicely with Boba Fett's story.

I don't have energy for a long review at the moment but I wanted to say that I enjoyed both series. I did feel The Mandalorian was done better, even though both stories were managed by Jon Favreau, had excellent casts, and good direction. I just felt like the Boba Fett series was done with a little less sophistication than the first series.

I know this is all supposed to be "new  canon" (as opposed to the Lucas-era canon), but it seems to me that Favreau was more faithful to Lucas than other Disney-era producers have been. I didn't follow fan discussions for these shows so I'm not sure what the sense among Star Wars fans is.

Of course, Star Wars fans mock Storm Troopers for being terrible shots even though it was Storm Troopers who killed most of the Jedi masters. Go figure.

Anyway, I think the made-for-streaming shows were better than Episodes VII, VIII, and IX in terms of story-telling. They were more interesting (to me) and I feel they made more sense - fit in better with the Lucas vision than the Disney movies.

I don't want to blame anyone for what I feel are flaws in the movies. Rather, I'd just like to say that I feel Jon Favreau and team exceeded my expectations and restored my interest in the Star Wars universe.
