They could always try again. If there is one thing Hollywood is good at, it's recycling old concepts repeatedly. We're on our 3rd adaptation of Dune. And how many times did they do Ben-hur or Mutiny on the Bounty?

I think they'd need a good combination for a successful remake: the actors, script, and director. Get the right people together and they could launch a film franchise.

But I have no preconceptions about who could do it.
