The movie was good, although it didn't follow the book too closely. And Faith Domergue was definitely not that hippy.
Sitting quietly, doing nothing,

It's a weird film - simultaneously profound and intellectual (by 50's alien invader movie standards) but also laughable and corny (by today's standards.) MST3K chose it for their big-screen incarnation, yet it's considered in the same pantheon as Forbidden Planet and The Thing.

It's not laughable even by today's poor-taste standards but might be 'corny' by these same poor-taste standards, and it does merit its A-movey status.
