I watched this show every week in Prime Time. I loved it.
Years later when I tried to watch it again it felt aged to me. The movie that inspired the show held up much better. That's the problem with "state of the art" science fiction production. Their production concepts are surpassed by real technology within a few decades, not to mention TV and film-making technology.

I too LOVED that show, but only at age 7 or 8. But you're right - it slowly devolved in the same direction as Lost in Space.

I was never a big fan of the series, and the movey seemed much better from what I see in the trailer, but I don't remember it very much.
