J I read rumors that there is going to be one. I hope this time they introduce some of the knights of the round table and Lancelot. Maybe Merlin can turn Arthur into a underdog and show him even predators need support and have bullies.

But is this a remake of the Disney cartoon? or a faithful live version of the book? or yet another variation on the King Arthur story, none of which have really worked?

If it's a Disney production, I am almost certain it would be a remake of the cartoon. That's been their MO for years. Personally, I'd like a revisit to the source material itself, but I don't expect that.
