Fame and fortune on the silver screen

My friend Libby had a few lines in a Robby Benson movie in 1990. She still gets one of these every now and then:

I roll my eyes every time I see a check that cost more to print than it's worth. You'd think in the age of electronic payments more royalties would be sent automagically.

I still have to call my publishers and ask for royalty checks every 1-2 years. It's a total pain. The eBook I self-published through Amazon at least generates royalties I don't have to chase.

Another friend was in it too (actually about a dozen, because it was filmed here in town) and he verifies he got his nickel check as well. And he's in the Screen Actors' Guild.

I don't remember why, but I once got a check for 1 cent. I banked it. The teller and I both chuckled.
