I just started watching it yesterday. I think it's quite good. I especially like the production design, which is heavily retro.

I'm afraid I will pass on this one. I have no idea of why. The previews just did not appeal to me.

I generally love the characters with the exception of Harvey Bullock. In the comics Harvey is very straight-laced and very black and white about what is the law and what is not. On Gotham he is very laid-back and grey about the whole notion. What through off many people in the beginning is that they seemed to think they were going to see Bruce Wayne slowly working his way to becoming Batman, similar to how Clack was working his way to becoming Superman in Smallville. Gotham is about how Jim Gordon and the villains become the familiar characters we know. It will be interesting to see if the have any super villains appear or is it be Batman who attracts them to the city.

I agree, as I recall the animated series occasionally portrayed Bullock as a tough cop, but never a bad one.
