James Cameron, who has already rented a special submarine to capture footage in the Mariana trench (the deepest location in the Pacific Ocean), has now purchased 2470 acres of land in New Zealand that will be used to film his next "Avatar" movie (and perhaps for other projects in the future).
Reuters reports that he spent NZ$20 million to buy the land.
EcoRazzi has published a small gallery of images of the land Cameron purchased.
