Chris Columbus' 1492 Pictures picking up SciFi movie project
According to First Showing, Chris Columbus' 1492 Pictures has picked up the rights for "How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe". New-to-the-scene Brendan Bellomo will direct the adaption of the Charles Yu novel about a time travel machine repairman who gets stuck in a time loop.

I wonder if Chris has decided to stop directing, since "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" didn't do so well. I hope he's not comparing his recent work to the first two Harry Potter movies -- I hope no one else is, either. That would be harsh.

But then it's good to see such a notable director take an interest in new talent.
