Well, there was a movie by the same name released in 2006 starring Judd Nelson, but it wasn’t a remake. There was an announcement in 2009 made by Disney to remake the movie. Joseph Kosinski was attached, and he’s been involved in other remakes as well, like Tron Legacy. There is no release date and nothing further, so at this point I’d put it down to an announcement that may or may not come to fruition.

Personally, I loved the original and would love to see a remake.
