"Play it again Sam..."

I usually walk around all day, quoting movie lines to myself....

one of my favourites comes from a Sergio Leone film, where Klaus Kinski confronts Lee Van Cleef in a low down, taverna...

KK (in a high pitched sneer) "Well, well, well... it it ain't the smoker! go ahead, n' light another match..." (offers his stubbled cheek)

LVC, (in a calm, conversational voice) "I usually smoke after my dinner.... come back in about ten minutes"

KK, (losing his cool) "Ten minutes!!?" (Shouts) "In ten minutes time, you'll be smoking in hell!!"

Any one else got any favouruite lines they love to quote???

From the movie Major Payne.

After the Major blast several holes with his .45 in the small child's closet in response that there is a man (most likely imagainary) in the closet.

"If he is in there he's not happy."

Said that after everytime they dropped bombs on places where Saddam was reported to have been.

By the way Moif, what is that thing in your avatar.

Not much traffic Moif, and I thought this was going to be a really hot thread.

Listen to the anguish of a world in which the bad things are coming out of the dark places.
Listen to a world in pain. Listen.
You can hear it.

Am I having the blonde moment, or are you?

My favourite line is from Bladerunner, where Rutger Hauer's characters says, "All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain." :teary:

Hmme, the one's I use most often seem to be...

Terminator: I'll be back.

Star Wars: I have a bad feeling about this!

Galaxy Quest: Never give up, never surrender!

Planet of the Apes: Get your stinking paws off of me you damned dirty ape!
:alien: Sci-Fi needs reality TV as much as it needs a Hammer!

I've always liked Anthony Michael Hall's line in The Breakfast Club:
"Chicks can't hold their smoke. That's what it is."

And Kurt Russell in Big Trouble in Little China near the end of the movie:
"Well Wang, we really shook the pillars of heaven, didn't we?"
"In ancient times, hundreds of years before the dawn of history, lived a strange race of people: the Druids. No one knows who they were, or what they were doing, but their legacy remains hewn into the living rock ... of Stonehenge"

Ooooh, my whole family converses in movie lines, but drawing a blank here.............

From Holy Grail
Sorry, everyone, sorry!

Away, foul temptress!

I am Arthur. King of the Britons. Defeater of the Saxons. Sovereign of aaaaall England!

There are some who call me...........Tim?

FromStarman
Red light stop, green light, go, yellow light go, very fast!

It is very good. (Spoken in a monotone)

From Raiders of the Lost Ark
It`s not the years. It`s the mileage.

From Star Wars
You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

May the Force be with you.

Blue already said this, but it`s a favorite at my house: I have a bad feeling about this!

From Phar Lap
He throws money around like a bloke with no arms.

So many more. Must sleep on it. Smile
Hope, D`Argo.... I have HOPE. John

Too many stories are nothing more than connected vignettes of codified symbols used to tell the audience where the plot currently stands like some sort of checklist Mirage

Raider of the Lost Ark.

Indiana Jones: I'm making this up as I go along.

And this from Bull Durham, although it has to be edited to be here.

"Well, I believe in the soul. The cxxx, the pxxxxxx, the small of a woman's back, the hangin' curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent over-rated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there oughtta be a Constitutional amendment outlawing astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pxxxxxxxxxxy, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve, and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days. Good night." Said by Kevin Costner's character.

Bringing this thread back from the dead.

Recent film quotes that I've enjoyed:

"Throw one at me if you want, hash head. I've got all five senses and I slept last night, that puts me six up on the lot of you."

From "Big Jake":

[Said by many characters]: "Who are you, Mister?"

[John Wayne]: "Jacob McCandles."

[Many characters shuffle and look down]: "I'm sorry, Mr. McCandles. I thought you was dead."

[John Wayne, after hearing this for the umpteenth time]: "People keep saying I'm dead. I'm going to shoot the next man who says that to me."

[Villain, after being shot by John Wayne, says]: "Who are you, Mister?"

[John Wayne]: "Jacob McCandles."

[Villain, about to die from being shot]: "I thought you was dead."

Richard Boone played the villain. Great movie.
