NICOLE Kidman will play Becca in the screen adaptation of this year's winner of the Pulitzer prize for drama, Rabbit Hole, but actress Georgie Parker believes the story's tragic plot is one best told through theatre.
David Lindsay-Abaire's 2005 play tells the story of an ordinary couple, Howie and Becca, trying to deal with the accidental death of their young son.
The inspiration for the play came from a mentor of Lindsay-Abaire's, who said write about the thing that most frightens you.
It was not until he became a father years later that the playwright realised what that was - losing a child.
Parker who plays Becca, the mother of the dead child, in the Ensemble Theatre production said the beauty of the play was the intimate grief of the characters shared with the audience.
