Yep, in spite of Josh's fervent desire to stick to directing his own projects now, the lure of show-biz (and the almighty dinar) always beckons, and so our boy is set to direct a film called "Intent," starting 11/10 in his native MI. As detailed in the other thread on the Jack crew, Josh has a sideline of renting film equipment to crews shooting in the greater Detroit area, and from there, it turned out that one of the films needed an experienced local director!

He describes it as "a psychological suspense thriller." The stars are Eric Roberts, and Andrew McCarthy, plus Cloris Leachman, but only if she doesn't advance in "Dancing w/ the Stars in the next couple of weeks. (Fascinating how agents book their schedules that way!) Filming is in Livonia, Michigan. The producers are New Castle Entertainment; McCarthy plays a kidnapping victim, and supposedly the role was written w/ him in mind. In their PR material, they say that it's "...a combination of Silence of the Lambs and CSI. The story begins with a kidnapping in a suburban neighborhood and leads police on a manhunt that comes full circle."

Josh had this to say about Cloris Leachman:

Cloris Leachman is so good in "Last Picture Show" it hurts. When she reaches out at the end, touches Timothy Bottoms cheek and says, "Never you mind," it's one of the great, great things in movies.

Harpies is on Sci-Fi tonight at 11:30 PM EST, then again Sat. 1/24 at 9 AM, and Sat. 2/14 at 3 AM.

Note: neither Cloris Leachman nor Josh are doing "Intent" after all, after some financing problems the producers had.
