Casion Royale - Craig IS Bond- No Spoilers.

I have looked for a thread for this but couldn't find it. Please forgive me if there is one.

I was a little disappointed that Hugh Jackman did not take this role.

After all of the ridiculous abuse that Daniel Craig started to get, I started to think about the other films I had seen him in, Layer Cake being one.

With the abuse this man was getting, as usual, it is my stance to support the under dog.

Daniel Craig does not need my sympathy.

This is purely my opinion of course, but I was totally blown away by his performance. What a relief it was to watch this film. I have read a few of Fleming's books and I found that Craig has literally brought this character back to his roots.

I really hope that he goes on to make many more.

With love.

Well, they've got him signed up for another already.

I think he's brilliant as Bond. A serious approach is what the character needs right now. As to the movie, it was good, but a little too different for my tastes. I'll probably go see it again, but my first impression is that they "un-007'd" it a bit too much.

To a degree I think they needed to Boomer.

I think with the approach of starting at the beginning, it will give a new lease of life to the franchise.

If they keep on with this trend, it may give us the opportunity to see Bond develope into the character that we know.

Sadly, I felt the last of the Brosnan films was rediculous. The vanishing car was the last straw for me.

Needs must, and they definitely need to bring Bond into the 21st century and I think that Craig is the right person to do that.

Brosnan was a good Bond but would love the opportunity to see Casino Royale and what Craig has put into his role.

I'm going this weekend to see it. I'm trying to read up on what other people thought. I have read the most mixed opinions ever for this film. It's crazy. It's either people love the movie or hate it.

We noticed that too, there is no "I don't know" where this film is concerned.

After having finally seen it, I have mixed feelings about the film. The first hour or so is great - a nice mix of action and subterfuge, but it all seems to go downhill once Bond reaches the titular Casino Royale. The plot turns into a sort of directionless melodrama with unnecesary twists and, to be honest, I was kind of wondering why the film wasn't over yet two hours in. Also, I really didn't see the point of making it a prequel and thus dismissing the previous twenty films when all it added was some unnecesary angst.

As for Craig's performance, it was different certainly, a bit of a cross between Lazenby and Dalton with added crudeness. Personally I thought it wasn't very Bond, but at least he put his own spin on it, which is more than can be said about Brosnan.
