Does anyone know what the shell of a lightsaber is made of? A beam of pure energy would produce a lot of heat, which explains the melting blast door from Qui-Gon in Ep. 1. There are metals/alloys out there that can withstand a lightsaber, but are the outer shells of lightsabers made of this material? Does anyone have one of the weapon guides that might have the answers?
