Emma Watson to play Belle in "Beauty and the Beast"?

Fairy tales are most certainly back in style. Brit Scene recently reported that Emma Watson is considering picking up the lead role in a "Beauty and the Beast" remake directed by Guillermo del Toro ("Hellboy", et. al.).

The movie will be packaged and released by Warner Bros., not Disney. Of course, Warner Bros. handled the Harry Potter franchise. This sounds like a slam dunk deal if it happens.

It will be a different version but it is started to get a little old making fairy tales based on same thing over again.

I think most modern films owe something to fairy tales. Seeing a few movies "return to their roots" is a rather enjoyable experience for me. There are supposedly over 500 major variations on the Cinderella story (which I have read may have originated in China).
