Post: Did Isildur ever wear the One Ring?

I don't think much of this One Ring. What did Sauron accomplish with it? He had 1600 years in the Second Age to subdue Middle Earth and he got beaten by Men! Not even by Elves. And he was doing pretty...

Maybe Sauron hid it. Melted it down to make Grond. I can't think of anyone having a trophy, just Isildur's weregild but that's different.

Either Ohtar or the other two must have recounted the fate of Isildur and so must have known that Isildur used the Ring.

Isn't that odd though? Water is mostly good (except in The Hobbit) presumably because of the will of Ulmo. Place is inert, passive. Don't forget that Mirkwood used to be Greenwood the Great before the...

Great analysis Alvin. There's a parallel here with Eomer's decision when Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli meet him, which was also less than plausible. The similarity could be called extraordinary circumsta...

I don't think either of the Arathorns went in to Mordor. If you're talking about the Last Alliance and the Battle of Dagorlad it happened long before either of them were alive.

The only gripe I have about Tolkien's land is that it's passive. There is no power of place unless through some other agent. Barrow downs for example.

This is a fun game to play. Make any change to the story and it ends badly. Parth Galen seems to be a pivotal point. On the other hand I suppose you could say this of any story.
